How do Toyota and Nissan Truck Sales Compare

If you follow Forbes online, you will see the pick-up truck being proposed by Mercedes, although not until 2020 and not for the United States market.

Of greater interest however was the statement that the Ford F series sells three times as many pick-ups as Nissan and Toyota combined. No wonder I seldom see them towing RVs.

Strange. I have seen 3 fifth wheel trailers on 1/2 trucks. 2 of them were on a pair of Toyota Pick ups at Disney World's Fort Wilderness several years back. The other one was somewhat local to my area. It was a smaller 5 er with a F150 tow vehicle. Go figure.

pickup trucks.com tracks them monthly on their website. Very telling of who sells what/how much.

Big three dominate the market 1/2 ton and up.

There just isn't anything that can take the abuse other than the big three.

there are a few of course but very small numbers.

I see a fair amount of Tundra's pulling trailers but I live in the snowbird belt.

That might have been me! When the Tundra came out, there wasn't anything on the market that could touch it IMO. I loved my Tundra, but wanted a diesel. I towed right at the limits and never had any issues with it. However, now that Ecoboost came out, it's definitely an outdated platform.

When we were down there it was in mid October 2012. The loop I was in, I only could drool at all the big boy trucks. LOL
