Is the splined output shaft that the pitman arm bolts to different in size or spline count than the later Saginaw box? The reason I ask is I found a Saginaw box on an F350 with the C7TA-3590-L pitman arm still hooked up.

I would like to get that box but the info. I found here and on Fordification site says that arm won't fit a Saginaw box. I was looking at it and took pictures which are on my post below.

Is this box modified or the arm or will it just fit? They had it working somehow? Is the info. out there wrong on this arm NOT fitting a Saginaw box?

If the truck is a 73-79 dentside get the whole box and arm assembly and be done with it.
Mixing and matching boxes and arms will drive you crazy. If you're switching to discs get the drag links etc. from the same truck and bolt em up & go.

 

Thanks, I now know which arm goes to which linkage. I just need to know the answer to my question above. Are the shafts identical or not?
