I'm 53 and my '53 F-100 was the first vehicle I ever owned. It belonged to my uncle and I had loved it since I was a young kid. I bought it when I was 15 and have owned it since.

For me, it was always Mustangs over Camaros, and F-100/F150s over 1500s. Yes, in my opinion the Chevys drive a little better (smoother, more comfortable) but when it comes time to get to work you drive a Ford.

My list of Fords have included:
'53 F-100 (first vehicle, still own it)
'53 F-100 parts truck. (took what I thought I needed and scrapped the rest)
'74 Pinto Runabout (had a 302 in it)
'79 Mustang Turbo. (a pace car painted Porsche Red)
'79 F-100 Ranger parts truck (decided to keep my flathead)
'88 Bronco II
'94 Bronco (everything an Eddie Bauer had, but it wasn't)
'95 F-150 4x4

Also: I learned to drive in my dad's '62 Falcon van. (not an Econoline) He had 3 more Ford conversion vans after that one.

My daily driver is an '04 Liberty only because I wanted that size vehicle and I didn't like the first generation Escape.

I'm currently in the market for a used Explorer or F-150 4x4 extended cab. All the local car lots have plenty of Chevy and Dodge trucks, but few Fords. People just don't trade them in like the others. And when they do they have 200,000 miles on them.

I am 57. My Grandfather, my father, and both of my uncles were all Ford guys. I can remember my dad and uncles shop had a 59 short bed, 62 one piece body, and a 54 fat fender, and many more since then.

I have owned Fords my entire life and always will.

My first car was 64 Galaxy 500 bought from my sister, who bought it from my uncle, who bought it from his son, who bought it from his cousin.

I currently have a 48 F1 project, 88 Bronco XLT daily driver, 97 Thunderbird sport (1 owner) under cover, 2015 Fusion (wife's car).

Would I give up my trucks for a brand X? NO !

If I sold one of my Fords it would be so I could by another Ford.

I have owned Galaxy, Mustang, Cougar, Cyclone GT, Thunderbird, Focus, Fusion, Probe, Explorer, Courier, Ranger, Bronco, short bed van, 1 ton van, camper special, extended cabs, F1, and in the late 70's I used to mow fields with a Ford 8N.

I selected the 48 because I wanted a fat fender. Really didn't have a preference other than 48 to 56.

"who knows what the rouge is or the LBAP. ". No idea unless talking about jewellers rouge lol !

Where do I start? I'll start off by, if it wasn't for my Dad living thru me I probably would have been into something else maybe?
My Mom wouldn't let my Dad have an old car buy when I was 13 he found a 53 f100 that ran and drove for $500. I bought it thinking it would be cool to be allowed to have my first rig at 13yrs old. That truck with the flatty would be my "winter beater" for 2 winters. At 15 I found a sweet black 56 f100 and I LOVED IT, I can still remember my Dad and brother saying that $1500 is too much for an old truck. Best money I EVER spent. This would be the first vehicle I drove on the road at 16, went to prom in it, hauled the middles school cheer leaders in the 4th of july parade (as a favor to one of the kids hot older sister LOL!. It was a legendary rig here in town. Left the truck here when I went off to college and when I returned I was dating my now wife, Good times, good times...... The good news is I'm 46 yrs old and I still own this wonderful part of my past. I thought about selling it over the years as it was stored away for 10 or so years after I got married, and my dad always said " it isn't eating anything sitting in the barn, just leave it there" I truly love this truck. I would go hungry before I'd sell it, honest
At 17 I found a 56 f100 bigwindow and I had to have it. I purchased it and it too is still a part of my family after almost 30 years. this was a 13 year restoration between getting married, and raising a family. Spent a lot of time with my Dad on this one.
I hate to count but I'm sure over the 30 years I have owned and or parted out nearly 75 trucks.
I have what I call the "top shelf area" in my shop and That's where I put my rare or hard to find items as it makes it harder to get them down to sell so when someone asks about that rare part I say "oh that's a top shelf item"
99% of the people I have met are stand up people in this truck hobby and I enjoy them as much as the trucks. I have to stop as I will use way to much computer space if I keep talking LOL!
Its a sickness I have and I LOVE it!
I dug a few old pics out and this is the first time posting them so enjoy

Well, I will be 73 in a couple of days. I only owned a Ford Mustang until I went to work for Ford Truck Engineering in 1978. Since then I have owned many Ford, Mercury and Lincoln vehicles. My trucks have been 1984 Ranger 4x4, 1993 Ranger 4x4, 1999 F150 4x4, 1999 Explorer V8 4x4, 2005 Expedition, 1956 F100 Street Rod and I am shopping for a replacement for the Explorer and Expedition. Other vehicles are 2002 Jaguar ,1999 Corvette and 2003 Harley VROD. I have had the 56 F100 since 1995 after years of searching for the perfect truck. One that needed everything. I have been around FTE probably since about 1998. I retired from Ford in 2003 and moved to Minnesota in 2006.

Here's my ford history, after high school worked at a ford dealership as a mechanic, when I turned 20 joined the police dept we drove crown Vic's! I always had Broncos and numerous mustangs I street raced at a local drag strip, in 1984 I wanted a hod rod ,I found a one owner 1951 f-1 we made a deal and I did it up like a 50s hotrod, I still have it today. I'm now retired and have two 1956 ford trucks, a 1949 f-4 and my 1951 f-1 ,I have a 1950 8n tractor a 2006 superduty f-250 ,I orinally got into truck mainly because no one wanted them back in the day and I purchased them fairly cheap! My 1949 f-4 I did pony up 4000 dollars for it one owner no rust at all, barn kept from a small farm with only 22,000 miles on it! He was firm on the price I just gave him the money! I love the old ford trucks! And am constantly looking for my next find!!!

First off, I'm 66 years old. I have owned GM cars and trucks most of my life. My Dad was a Buick fan, that never rubbed off on me. My first car was a 1939 Ford coupe, I was hoping for a 40' , that was in 1963 . I overhauled my first flathead at 14yrs. old. Over the years I stayed pretty much with GM cars and trucks. I did have a 56 custom cab ford truck in the early 70"s, got rear ended at a stop light, that's a whole other story. Somewhere along the way I got an uncontrollable urge to find a Monkey Face Ford pickup. I ended up with a 1950 f1. It is not going anywhere soon. The 48-56 Ford pickup styling, in my opinion was far superior to any other pickup of that era. My stable currently holds, 1950 Ford f1, 1947 ****** cj2a,1997 Chevy Blazer, 2000 GMC 3500, 2001 Cadillac Eldorado.

I am 61 and I bought my first ford pickup in 1971, right after high school. 1965 f100. Sold it to a cousin two years later after I traded a rowboat I built for a '28 AA stakebed. 26 mph with the worm gear rear axle, but my daily driver. I was hooked. I'm now on my 3rd AA script stakebed, but in between I have owned something like 35-40 old ford trucks. I currently have a '28 AA, '46 1/2 ton, '47 one ton panel, '47 2 ton script stakebed, '59 f350 9' flareside pickup and I sold my '37 1 1/2 ton last Monday. My grandfather, Benjamin Burleigh Sisson operated Sisson's Garage in Wareham Mass. His was the area's Ford agency. He died in 1929 when my dad was only a year old, but I inherited the gene for sure. I have lots of old photos and I'll see if I can pull up some for my post. They are on paper, old cds and old computers. I was an 'old ford guy' even when I was young! Edit: I wish I could have done them in chronological order. My grandpa is on far right in the lineup of model Ts

I am 30 years old and come from a ford pick up family. Growing up my parents had both of my grandfathers last pickups. My moms dad had a 77' 1/2 ton and dad's dad a 78' 3/4 ton. Both 2 wheel drive. I also have 5 older brothers and three of them had fords: a 65' 1/2 ton, 74' 1/2 ton 4x4, 77' short box 4x4, and an 86' 1 ton 4x4 dually diesel. There was also a 59' GMC, a 58' chevy, a 65' chevy, a 70' chevy and a 73' IH. All of my brothers first vehicles were classic pickups that my parent helped them get. By the time I came along (I'm the youngest) there finances were not so good so I got he old family car, a 72' olds cutlass. That was my first car and one I will never sell.
My first ford pickup came my senior year of high school. I found locally a really nice 1979 f350 4x4 and had to have it. It was a very clean well optioned truck. I drove it through the rest of high school and college and several years after. I sold it after getting married, buying a house and having two of our three kids. I had a job with a truck provided and it was doing more sitting then driving.
I found I did always feel a little left out on the classic Pickup front from my child hood and I missed my 79'. A random conversation with a coworker about old trucks led me to my current project. He mentioned that he had a 56' F350 that needed a new home and needed some help with a home improvement project. I was skeptical at first but had to go look! A few days later was Father's Day and when my wife asked me what I wanted to do to celebrate the day I had just the answer!
I have always loved the 1956 body style and wanted to have a classic truck some day. I also have always thought the vintage 4x4 trucks were just freakin cool! So when this deal came along and the price was right I couldn't have passed. It has been really fun making this fit just what I want it to be. I don't see ever letting this one go either.
The kids have shown some interest so far and I am doing my best to try keep them involved. There is so much to be learned working on thes old rigs, and not just about mechanics.
We also have had several fords as our daily drivers: 04' explorer, 06' ranger, 06' focus, 07' edge, 12' edge, and my current company vehicle, a 14' f150 ecoboost.
I am a ford guy and we are a ford family but I wouldn't say no to other brands. I still have the 72' Olds, a 52' Nash, recently sold my 67' Jeepster, and we have a dodge Durango. I still identify as a ford guy though!
Boy... when you put it all in writing it looks like I have a problem.

My son in the 56.

My 79' and my wife's 71' chevy.

Company pickup. 10k miles since January, loving it so far.

62 years old. I've been driving Fords since 1974. My first Ford, around 1968 was a 1951 F2 with a 241 Hemi I spent a good share of my life making a living pulling wrenches. I've owned more Fords than I can count, well over 100. Presently I have a 2000 dually power stroke, a 97 Aerostar AWD, my 29 roadster pickup hotrod and 2 projects, a 40 one ton panel and a 60 F100. That could easily change next week.

Wow... great stories.... I'll add mine.... I'm not a brand person.... I look at style... the lines... how I feel in it... My first truck rides were in my dad's '49 F1... Loved that truck... Turning 14 I was trying to buy a 65 Mustang Fastback... But it ran and my dad was afraid I would get in trouble to fast... I ended up with a 68 Datsun sedan.... When I was 15 I got a 59 Studebaker Lark... Well my Dad was right I lost my license before I got it (tickets)... @ 16 I traded my Dad both the Datsun and Studebaker for his F1... Still love it... Had a 66 Olds 88 when I was 17 (later put drive train in fist 49 f1)... Also had a 59 Mercedes 190, 73 Honda CB350-4, Drove my second family's 34 ford P/U (hot rod), 77 Pontiac Lemans, 85 Nissan King Cab 4x4, 85 Ch3vy S10 (V8), 86 Ford Ranger Extra Cab, 73 and 78 Ch3vy Blazer K5, 37 Harley Davidson Knucklehead, 85 Porsche 944, 62 Harley Davidson XLCH, 69 Ch3vy El Camino, 95 Ch3vy Tahoe 4x4, 07 Ch3vy Avalanche, 07 Ch3vy Malibu, and another 49 Ford F1. I'm over 50 and love vehicles and if I like the way the look and feel then it's good for me.... I worked as a Chrysler/Jeep/Eagle mechanic in the early 90's. I

I'm 31. I have a '65 F100 and a '56 F100. My grandparents gave me and my twin brother the '65 for our 16th birthday (I quickly claimed full ownership...). I grew up going to car shows with my dad and great uncle, and was always drawn to the trucks. The '65 was passed from my uncle to my grandaddy and I think it was that truck that really started my passion for Ford trucks. While I love my '65 and will never get rid of it, I always loved the " '32 of pickups," the 1956 F100. I think it was just seeing them at shows and drooling over the lines of the truck. I didn't know anybody with a '56 and now that I'm writing this...I don't know when I became so obsessed with the '56 F100...but I'm glad I did! I remember when I was in college, I saw a college aged guy with a '53 F100 at the gas station. I think that was the moment I realized I didn't have to wait until I was older and could afford a show truck to get the truck of my dreams. It still took a few years, but I bought my '56 in 2012 and have made decent progress since...still a log way to go.

My dad has had a '79 F100 my whole life - he recently gave it to my twin brother (I think because I stole our '65? haha). I don't know when I became a complete and total Ford Fanboy, but I most definitely am. As far as switching to another brand of truck - impossible. (I'm ok with other brands of cars...except GM) I am currently in the market for a used Fx4 with a 5.0. I work in the auto industry and, unfortunately, have to work will all brands...they all try to convince me why they are better than ford, but it all goes in one ear and out the other.

The time I get to spend with my dad and brother working on the trucks just makes me love ford that much more. I really enjoy all the "ford" guys I meet and genuinely feel like I get along better with them than "chevy" guys. I love that most Ford guys seem to be older, while a lot of chevy guys seem like younger punks. I really enjoy spending time and bonding with the generation of real men, which also makes me love this forum.

That being said...I have no idea what rouge is or the LBAP...
