2011 F-250 transmission
I know this has been beaten to death over the last couple of years but I recently purchased the truck used with high mileage. I have noticed a few hard shifts mainly when its cold from 2nd to 3rd and also on the way back down when coming to a stop sign. I can live with it the way it is if its the nature of the beast. I've been all over this site and others looking to see if anyone has encountered a catastophic like failure but can't seem to find any. I changed the fluid and it didn't seem to help, not too worried about it yet but a little moral support would help...anyone know of a failure yet??

Yes there is a TSB on the issue. I believe it is a solenoid replacement and flash of the PCM. When I bought my 2011, this had been done since the truck was an early build. However, I noticed on my truck I will get a hard shift once in awhile between 2-3 when the oil is cold. At normal operating temp, no issues. Runs like a champ. This was confirmed with the local dealer as well. The tech said it would be normal to have a hard shift when the oil was not up to operating temp. I hope this helps you sleep at night
