I have an 07 f-150 5.4 i bought it about a month ago. Within the first week of having it, i had to replace the #3 plug and cp. It went back to running ok with a slight miss here and there. Last week it started running terrible and threw a 0420 code. So i replaced the cat. Now im getting several Misfire codes and a cam code. Last week i checked the oil and it was a little low, less than a qt. I had some and went a head and bought stuff to change it, its getting close to time for a change. When i bought it, they told me they had just done the cam phasers, and to could tell it had just been opened up because there was still blue rtv around the joints. So today im trouble shooting. I keep hearing about how the phasers run off the oil pressure, ao i headed that direction. Bank 1 is where im getting all the codes, so i started with that side. Upon inspection, i noticed oil on that side of the engine bay. It looks like it has been spraying out somewhere around the can position sensor. I checked the oil again, it is not picking any up. It was full a week ago today. So could the low oil cause low pressure and in turn cause the phaser to not run properly? Thanks in advance for any help
