replaced holley 1940 carb to universal 1v nightmare

I had a loadomatic distributor and replaced it with a DUI distributor and had a holley 1940 carb with spark control valve and replaced it with the daytona universal carb. What a night mare I have had the carb replaced with a new one and multiple rebuilds. it won't stop leaking gas under the carb. It has leaked out of every gasket including the pin hole under the float bowl including the plastic float taking in gas. Daytona workers said they have had several problems but the owner says they never had problems. They keep trying to blame it on me and suggest it has to be coming from my fuel line being to tight and leaking there which it is not. The carb i bought for around 350 now has me down 950 dollars from mechanics trying to fix the leak to sending it back to daytona at 50 dollars a pop.

I now live and travel in my van and have been stranded many times without a carb while sending it to get fixed the only good part about that it is the only time I get to sleep without sucking fumes like my head is in a gas can. I get headaches from the fumes and it is probably killing me slowly.

Any help would be a blessing. I sold my good working holley 1940 on ebay for 85 dollars and free shipping and the guy said it works great and i I pitched my good working load o matic dizzy because no one wanted it.

I am not sure if I can re buy a holley 1940 and bypass the spark control valve some how. If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated.
