Ive had an old style diode isolator on my F350 superduty for about 10 years. It finally went bad and took the alternator with it. (also fried the terminal off the second battery, a gel battery, im extremely lucky a fire didn't ensue)
Can I get some ideas what the best isolators are these days?
With the second battery (mounted in the bed) I'm powering a 1600 watt invertor, 4 40watt floods and a cb radio.
Also, I want to fuse each end of my spare batteries 2 gauge wire. Any recommendations on which type (and value) to use?
