This happened to me and I believe I had to use a set of vise grips on them to get them off. You could also hammer a slightly larger bit into the plug to see if it'll turn.
Ok this might sound dumb but it's driving me nuts. What is this fill plug used for? What are we filling the hpop with thought it was pumping oil? Why would we want to remove this plug? I dislike not knowing things
There is an oil reservoir on the top of the HPOP on 7.3's. There is maybe a quart and a half of oil in the reservoir and oil rails in the head. There are some folks that say changing that at oil change time could help longevity. Mine has almost 248000 on it. I'm doing whatever tricks I can to help out. Basically there is bit of dirty oil in the top of the motor that will just mix in with in the new oil if you don't change it.

Thank you I guess at least you can get to it. On the 6.0 there is at least a quart in the res. But no way to get to it.
