Your request is very vague. Looking for sound or performance?

Either way not much is going to happen with factory converters.

Everybody has their own opinions on what sounds good. If you just take the muffler out and leave the catalytic converter, it will give it a little bit of volume, but the cat is the best muffler you can get. Be warned that removing your catalytic converter and not replacing it is a federal offense, but that aside, I like how flowmasters sound. They do have a tendency to drone if you put them too far forward in the system. Other people like Thrush or Cherry Bombs.

I personally go with either straight pipes or true dual shorty glass packs. But if your looking for power in your exhaust setup a good set of longtubes and a proper Y pipe setup no bigger than 3 inches in diameter should provide some good gains, as for muffler I would opt for either something quiet for a work truck or at least put a cat back on to dull the sound down a little.

I have a cherry bomb glass pack dumping out the passenger side by the rear wheel and it's got great sound. I had a super 44 flowmaster on my old 90 F150 and with the stock cat it was super quiet and not worth the time/effort/price to install.
