Reworking the doors on my 49 F-1 build ... originally Ford had poured what looks like hot pitch on the inside surfaces to prevent "oil canning" of the large sheet metal area of the lower door. I have removed the old hardened dry cracked material ... any suggestions for a replacement material?
Thanks JB
I think it was used mainly as a sound deadened. Withou something on the inside of the door it'd sound like you were riding in steel drum. There's a lot auto sound deadeners available. My son used the sticky tar type material you wrap house foundations.
