My 02 v10 seems to be idling a little high all of the time like 900 in neutral , drops to 650-700 in gear. Normal?

 

My 05 idles at around the 800 mark according to the Scan Gauge when in Park. Between 600 and 650 when stopped in Drive.

Are you reading the RPM from the dash gauge? Or do you have an aftermarket gauge hooked up? If reading from the dash gauge, then the needle could easily be off by one of those little tick marks..... just an idea.

Look for a vacuum leak . Check your PCV hoses & its elbow and MAF sensor rubber plug at air filter housing.

ok will check for leaks. I just going off the dash gauge but with my calibrated ear it sounds like its idling a little high.
