The new guy from the old world

Hi guys,

im a new member from bremen- germany, so please excuse my bad english.

Im a Member of the really small Car Club "Van Rats". The youngest member with 24 years

last summer i bought my 1997 Ford E250 Cargo with the 5.4L Triton V8.

I grew up in a E150 from the 3. Generation year 1978, so it was a big thing to find an econoline in a good shape (especially in germany...)

so im looking for all details about my model and all schedules or datas that will help me keeping it running!

regards

roman

look close and see the smoke stains above the door

fender paint and roof paint did not get damaged, hood is a complete right off,

spell check was done by you

I have a 1986 E150 shorty from California, it had a battery fire and did a lot of damage but I have enough parts to rebuild it. not sure what I'm going to power it with. have been toying with the idea of a 460 with big intake and carb, and an E4OD on the back using a computer and controls from an IDI diesel E4OD. or just stick a diesel in it, gas prices haven't dropped here enough so..........

Let me guess, this is an old US Army van ?

Mine is a 98 E250 cargo van, used by the US Navy in Italy before with the typical "nothing, but big V8, A/C and LSD rear diff" outfit.

Well, I'll join the party. This is a sadly faded, blurred, scanned old photograph. It was bright pumpkin orange. The only existing photo I know of my old '79 E-150. Man, I loved that thing.

Sperrdifferenzial ! Means that the van still moves forward when one wheel has less traction, i.e. on snow or ice.

I changed the headlights to TruckLite full LED units

Should be something like 40-60%. Enough to light up both rear tires equally from a standing start.
