Speedometer issues... 1995 f150

Hello all In my 1995 f150 5.8 with E4od my speedometer started getting the "needle waiver" and from my pinion bearing going out.. So I thought...

I pulled the cluster out and swapped in blue LEDs and scrapped the green film off and it was reading dead on (like it was but still with the waiver) after that and then all of a sudden my needle pegged out to 85+ for awhile then it would go back down and then do it again and now whenever I drive my speedo is 10-20 mph off.. Like I'll be going 60(gps) and my speedo will read 45. I've tried replacing the VSS and the connector to it and it didn't help any I have tried 2 factory ones also.

Also, I'm not sure if this is related but everyonce and awhile my tach will like stick at a certain rpm and if I smack the top of my dash it will drop it down to where it should be.. And it will, instead of smoothly going to an rpm after shifting, jump violently down..

I'm not sure if they're related but any help would be much appreciated!

I'm not sure if I didn't get something plugged in all the way or not on the cluster orrr

I'd remove the cluster again and start there. Make sure connections are clean and plugged in all the way.

Ok thanks for help Bob! Would it hurt to put some dielectric grease on them?

There isn't any on there from the factory so I'd avoid it. Maybe just use some contact cleaner and see what happens.
