2003 radio

I have a new to me 2003 F150 and it needs a radio, I can get a factory one from a savage yard for a $100 but I been thinking after market. Do the after market come with plate to reduce the size of the hole or will I have to buy something and will the radio come with a adapter plug to match the truck wiring.

You'd have to buy a wiring harness adapter and install kit for your truck separately.

Hi Denny,

Check out this page for mounts Find what fits your car - Crutchfield

Here are the wiring adaptors Find what fits your car - Crutchfield

and for stereos Car Stereos at Crutchfield.com

I have ordered from Crutchfield in the past and have had no issues with them. The nice thing about getting everything from them is you can get a discount on your installation gear and they also include the hooks to remove the factory unit.

I have bought several car stereos from Crutchfield. Great people, great products, and great prices. Usually the harness comes with the stereo for free.

I agree with Crutchfield. I bought a radio from the salvage yard for my truck. Going to crack the case on the first radio and solder the Rheostat that is bad. I like the stock look.

I just bought one from the local yard, it fit right and looks and sounds good plus it was just plug and play.

Second one started having issues. Instead of spending what is now hundred dollars at a salvage yard, I bought this. Pops right in and I'm able to use my iPhone via Bluetooth for music and also the wired microphone was a clean install for using hands-free phone.

After a few days with this, I wish I never waited. Bluetooth connection to my iPhone to play music, don't need CDs! Phone works great even on the highway.
