well, it finally happened, dead stancor GPR.

not in the 02, but in the 88.
i went to move the 88 diesel and no start.
test light to the GPR showed no output power.
the 20 or so year old stancor died.
no problem, i took the 8 year old one off the 02 and put the brand new one off the shelf on the 02.

i did a test light test on the old unit. when activated, it would make contact for a second, then loose it.
in 15 on cycles, it only worked twice, once for a split second, just long enough to see a flash in the test light, and one time a little longer, maybe 2 seconds worth.

i knew is was acting up, i have been having random no start issues all winter. that was the reason for the new one on the shelf.

My 2001 f250 and 2002 Excursions originals are still rockin'.... though NC winters aren't too tough and one North Dakota winter killed 7 out of 8 of my glowplugs

Since I moved my Stancor to my passenger fender wall, I get a nice, loud "clunk" every time the GPR comes on, and then again when it goes off. I don't even need to install my GPR LED mod now because I now have the "audio version", and it is completely unmistakable!
