1955 F100 help

Hey guys...I'm new here but hopefully i will be a new owner here pretty soon. I found a truck on Craigslist but it looks a little funny to me. Maybe a few of you guys that know you stuff could help me figure out why it looks funny from these pictures. I haven't gotten any information back on it but would love to pick your brains.

Any help is appreciated.

What looks funny to you? To me it looks normal. But I am not an expert.

The bed looks a little weird but it could be the tires or angle of the picture. The 55s had the small window?

That is a small window. Only the 56's had the option of the big window but there are kits to convert the 53-56 into a big window.

Maybe it's because it still has original front springs and axle? For some reason Ford did not center the front wheels/axle in the fender arches in the 53-56 F100. They are replacement springs/ draglink that moves the axle ~1.25" forward to visually center the front wheels if you want to correct it. Wood bed floor has been replaced/covered with plywood or metal then coated with bedliner. Otherwise it looks like a pretty clean truck

Okay I didn't know that about the springs and window - thanks.

What questions should I be asking and where should I be paying attention when I look at it in person? What do you think a fair price would be?

Make sure the VIN is the same on the Data plate on the inside of the Glove box door and on the upper passenger side frame rail. The frame VIN will be somewhere on the top of rail from the radiator support to the firewall. The frame VIN will start and end with a *.

Do you know anyone that knows something about these trucks who could look at it with you?
Where are you located? Maybe a fellow FTE'r would be willing to take a look with you.

I like it a lot. I think you might be worrying about nothing. Ride height might be what is bothering you, but looks stock. What sized wheels? The tyres look a bit junior burger sized, but that is about all. Good luck.

My 56 sits the same way,,,,,

My stanch is due to the 427 FE that sits in it , Then again Mine was purposely built to look that way due to the engine driveline combo.

IDK but it doesn't look right to me either. It's like the cab
is to tall. Maybe the hood has been modified? Something
not right. Like said just maybe the tires. But are the rear
fenders right? They look more like later ones. Like 70's
maybe. It just looks off a little to me. But what do I know.
I drive a Bronk when I runs.

EDIT: After looking some more I think the silver/white
running boards are messing with me. If they was black
it may well look alright.

The stance is throwing me off too. White running boards??? Check all four corners of the cab for rust as well as the door bottoms. Otherwise, that is a nice looking truck. How much is it?
