F-600 engine choices
Would a 391 FT. engine be a direct bolt in for a 330 FT. The truck is a 68 F-600 with NP 435 trans.
thanks

It will bolt right in, but if it doesn't have its own flywheel, you can run into problems using some of the 330 ones.

330 2V Heavy Duty - 361 - 391 uses the same flywheel.
330 2V Medium Duty uses a different flywheel.

He's right on the flywheels. An ex-Ford mechanic who worked in our shop back in the 70's told me exactly that when I was inquiring about engine swaps.

I am replacing the hd330 in my 77 F600 with a 78 school bus 391. The 391 had an automatic behind it. Will it be ok to use my hd330 flywheel and clutch setup? Will it be balanced ok enough to haul some gravel for me?

See post 4. As long as you are working with a 330HD you are in luck.
