Last week I purchased a 2013 extended cab and now the neighbor's cats are sleeping on top of my engine.
I've never seen such a large openings in the wheel wells.
Has anyone here had that problem? If so how to I fix it?
Thanks Mike
I have some politically incorrect ways of dealing with a problem like that. Otherwise, for me, the cat needs to out perform the mouse breeding rate to be allowed to hang around.
The wheel well liners might help, or a couple of alarm clocks placed under the hood after you park it.
Looks great! Afraid I'm to old (68) and too round for the trial and error part.
Is there anyway I could talk you into making me a set then selling them to me?
Please send me a PM.
Hope I'm not violating any rules by asking
Thanks Mike
You should talk to your neighbor, his cat is meddling with your property. In any case, if I notice any lurking stray cats, I check underneath before I get in my truck. I try to be careful not to start with any cats under, or in your case, inside the engine. who knows, it might cause inconvenience/damage. Good luck settling it with the neighbor.
I would try the wheel well liner as suggested. It is true that cats will climb in there to escape the cold...do you blame them?? They are on tires a lot too. You could always try spraying your wheel wells with some cat repellant (sold in the pet stores) to help keep them from wanting to climb in there.
Yeah you should tell your neighbor about it. Last thing you want is to tear a cat apart in a fan or something and your neighbor thinks its your fault. I say get the hose ready before you start it and soak em through the grill. Maybe they'll think twice before doing it again.

+1 on that, the hose will do more good than telling the neighbor, Cats are cats and do as they please. I would never have even thought a cat could get up in the engine bay on our trucks. My Dads cat used to sleep on the hood of the cars in the garage especially in the winter. She knew where a warm place to sleep was, so just as soon as you parked she was up on the hood. When it came time to leave again all my dad had to do was get in the car and she got off but this cat never really cared for my mom so she took her sweet time getting off the hood of her car. So one day mom had enough and hopped out of the car grabbed the cat and threw her in car with us. You better believe that cat got to moving whenever mom came in garage after that.

Here are some front inner fender flaps that I fabbed up and installed on my leveled '13 F150 Supercrew 4x4.
I loaned out the template to a friend of mine, but would be glad to send out a copy once I get it back. It could be drawn on a sheet of paper, folded up, and mailed for you to trace on whatever material you desire. I used a roll of exercise mat for my flaps. Anyone interested, PM me with your address and I'll get it out to you ASAP.
Shrouded E-fans wouldn't be a hazard to a cat, but the belt drive sure would. Water through the grill would never made it onto the engine, you have an A/C condensor, radiator, transmission cooler, and shrouded fans for the water to get through. I like the fender liner idea the best.
