51 F1 frame measurements.
Help please!. My truck frame looks bent. There is a dent in the top rail exactly between the bolt holes for the battery carrier, and looks to be bowed out along the side of the frame under the cab, passenger side. The driver side looks ok, although I cant really see too well as my garage is pretty gloomy. Can somebody please tell me, or better, show me the measurements for the frame. Looks like its going to be a cab off, motor out kinda summer......when it gets here!
As usual,Thanks for any and all information.

bobbytnm, thanks for your reply, appreciate it!
truckdog 62563, That's what I was looking for. Many thanks. The dent is on the top of the frame where the steering box would be, if it was right hand drive. Maybe I will just need some heat and the use of a large hammer to persuade it back into place......
Thanks again for your help.
Geoff.

I can't get to that area on my truck right now.
You could take a piece of scrap flat bar, cut a slot into it about the thickness of the frame, and about the depth of the frame flange. Then you could use that to slip over the bent flange and slowly work the bent area back into shape. It might not even take any heat. I big adjustable wrench would work as well but it would be better if you had something that would take the whole depth of the flange.
Good luck
Bobby

It is hard to tell the exact measurement. It looks like about 2". BTW I have a dip in the frame at a similar spot (see pix below).

That size dent is hardly worth worrying about. With engine out/cab off measure the diagonals of the frame from corner to corner using factory located bolt holes as measuring points. If within 1/4" frame is OK. Don't heat the frame, straighten bent flange cold if needed using bobby's method, easy to warp and make useless. Important to go slow and work it a little at a time to avoid stretching metal!
