Wheel cylinder upgrade for '67 Highboy?

Can I bump up the wheel cylinder size from 1 1/16" to 1 1/8" on the fronts without any issues? Will the stock master cylinder handle the xtra volume with the brakes properly adjusted? I can not find the correct front wheel cylinders for my 1967 Highboy. The NAPA cylinders come with a banjo type fitting instead of the inverted flare of current brake lines.

Have you checked on-line? Looking at rockauto.com it looks like they have the 1-1/16" cylinders in stock from a variety of manufacturers.

Yes, I have. They all cross back to the one that NAPA came up with that does not work.

How about a rebuild kit for what you have? Hone, clean, replace rubber.
Also, be advised that going to a larger wheel cylinder will change the braking characteristics. In fact, your front cylinders will attack about 12% harder.
Yours are 1 1/16 for a reason. And yes, you just put more fluid in the m/c reservoir with larger wheel cylinders.

Mine are pitted way to deep to clean-up. I honed out to 1.074" today and still have deep pitting right at the seal travel area. I have 4 sets coming from 3 different parts houses in hopes that one set will be right.

I was able to find the correct wheel cylinders at Auto Zone for my 1970 F250 with the 3500Lb. D44HD front axle.

FE390, I would love to have that Autozone PN#. They had the correct seat for the 3/16" flare, correct?

Well, O'Rielly was a strike-out.

The "correct" front cylinders came in and had the same DIN/bubble flare as the NAPA parts. I need the SAE double flare seat. The odd part is that the threads are 3/8-24. Are the brass inserts available (that seem to be the missing ingredient) to make these parts useable for a double flare?

For anyone following this thread. Auto Zone has the correct 1 1/16" wheel cylinders for the '67 3500# front axle except they are listed as rears. PN#'s are 33791 and 33792. I can finally zip my front axle up and get it off jack-stands this weekend!
