Exciting Times

Well, after i had an injector sleeve fail, I went on a shopping spree.
I ordered all new sleeves, 6637 intake, oil cooler orings and gaskets, and Turbo Boots from RiffRaff.
New Baby Swamps injectors and TS chip from Swamps Diesel.
Ordered 4" exhaust with 3" dp
Got my gauges ordered.

Parts are gradually coming in, delayed due to the jacked up icy weather here in Texas. I'm hoping that after all is said and done, I have some exciting times ahead.

Also figured out how the filter end of the oil cooler split. Word of advise, if the repair kit has 2 sets of orings, knowledgeable people tell you there are 2 sets of orings, but you only see 1 set when you pull the cooler apart, don't just rush and press it back together. No matter how hard you press, there is only enough room for the 2 sets of orings, not 3.

Thanks a lot for all the help and guidance.

Sorry, I didn't go with Rosewood. That 5 year/ 200,000 mile warranty looked good.

Yes, it's original. For now. I'm not going to push it hard (hopefully) until I can get some work done on it.
Since we are on the subject of curiosity, is there anything I could do to the tranny to help it survive until I can have it rebuilt?

A good triple dusk converter and transgo tugger shift kit will help.

Yeah, I was gunna say.. Im not a 2 pedal guy but ive heard the transgo kit mentioned several times; i do know they make incredably comprehensive kits, i had one in my th400. If the e4od kit is anything like the one I had there are at least a couple shift firmness options to install..

FYI: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...ranny-mod.html
I had to look for it because Id never heard of it..
Some other auto guys will prob chime in but theres a TC lock up mod you can do to.. Long ago on here Madvan (R.I.P) started a mod called "the cure" too.. I think that was a tranny mod... It may have been superceeded by now tho..

Sweet! It's great to see so many keeping these rigs on the road and making them even better than they were new. I'm looking forward to the build.

Well, the injectors, chip, intake, injector cups, oil cooler end, and injector cups are here.
Injector cups installed and oil cooler put back together, installed. It was SO much easier with the old Orings out of the way.
Trying to figure out how to flush the motor of all the old coolant/ diesel.
Then I'm going to pressurize the system and check for cup leaks (kinda like checking to see which cup is bad).
If any one has any ideas, feel free to let me know.
