2000 excursion no 4x4
Excursion is stuck in 4low. Both 4x4 and 4 low lights on dash. Have no power to switch though, have checked all fuses that I can find inside and under hood. Dealer diagnosed bad transfer case motor. Replaced and still nothing, I trying not to have to take back to them. Pleaee help. Thanks

Please keep updating the thread, I've got one with no action at the switch as well BUT it's not in 4WD at all, much less in LOW Are you driving it How did the dealer send you home with a new $500 shift motor and T-Case still in LOW My next step is to see if I have power shift motor as soon as I have the time to get under it

Just a guess BUT if you plugged in the plug & the t-case when into low THEN you have power to the switch. UNWANTED power but power. I would say it is the dial in the cab BUT how it goes to LOW without being in Neutral / Foot on brake is a puzzle as well
PS: I think my issue is a frozen shift motor ...I'd be interested in your old one if your not keeping it as a spare !!

"if you plugged in the plug & the t-case when into low THEN you have power to the switch" Should have said plug at shift motor. The motor / T-Case can't jump into action without power..

Won't get back to it till the weekend, but I still do not have any voltage at switch. Got to find a wiring diagram and start over

I think its only 5 volts signals to the gem to tell it to engage the tcase. I think you should have relays that actually send that power to the case. You could have one of those bad. If I remember right, they are identical and can be swapped for troubleshooting. Hopefully someone with a wiring diagram comes along though as its been a while since I had to trace one of these issues.
