Honestly, I don't see a connection. Someone in China had a boatload of COE toys that weren't selling and figured if they slapped some Star Trek art on it would sell.

Actually, mfg in Thailand for distribution in the EU & Canada by a Dutch div of Mattel. Thought it was funny it ended up in a Mississippi Kroger manager's "specials" bin.

I look at it this way, ST has inspired countless numbers of kids. (& adults) So if out there is somebody who decides to take an interest in finding out just what the heck a 49' Ford COE is, maybe one more antique piece of iron may be saved from the smelter.
Short of winning the lottery, I doubt I'll ever have 49 COE, so I snatched this one up.
According to the back of the card, there is a whole series of different vehicles that are emblazoned with the primary characters from the original series. When I get my allowance next week (), I might see if I can grab another. Bones has a custom 38 Airflow tanker.
Oh, quick question. Does the original use a 2 piece drive-shaft with a carrier bearing?
Amazon shows them to be from 2013. I'd be interested in the Airflow tanker. Wish I could find the COE and Airflow tanker around here. Don't have any Kroger stores.
