i just recently installed my train horn but now its still having problems. it leaks air but i have no idea where. from about 120 psi down to 0 in 5 or so hours. i want it to not leak air at all. also everytime i use it i have to get out of my truck and check the gauge for the psi which is in the bed of my truck and is there a way i could run a wire to a gauge in my truck cab so i could just power it on and see the psi from inside the cab? thanks

 

i have a line run into the cab, and my pressure gauge in the three gauge pod on the driver side pillar.
the leak could be almost anywhere. get a spray bottle and make a soap water solution. then spray every connection and fitting. you will know when you find a leak by the bubbles.

Yeah, I looked them up for research purposes of course. A little spendy but if I run into a used set somehow....

 

just to add a little.
good source of "soap water solution" , jug of bubbles from the Dollar store.

in lieu of gauge i used a tank mounted pressure switch that maintains pressure at 130psi =/-.

if your plumbing joints are not leaking, check your solenoid valve, it might be leaking past just not enough to sound the horns.

 

My truck came with the horn, solenoid, and compressor already installed. I bought a use jobsite complessor that didn't work off of craigslist and had that mounted by a friend. I went to the Menards and bought the brass compression fittings that they sold in plumbing, and then some vinyl ice maker tubing. I got them good and tight, and where I was going to NPT I used some loctite thread sealant. One try; no leaks.

I don't know if I got lucky, or if you just didn't tighten everything enough but to find the leaks just use the soap and water in a spray bottle.
