disconnect battery - better mileage??
I heard from a V-10 owner that if you disconncet the battery for about 1/2 hour it will reset the computor and increase your mileage. He said it is set for all the short drives I do and will reset for longer trips. Didn't call him a fool but did call the local Ford dealer and the service manager confirmed it. The dealer said it will increase 1 or 2 mpg but not up to the 14 mpg claimed by the other guy. Girls lie about their weight and guys about their mileage.
Am going on a trip next week to Colorado and will report back the findings // good or bad.

Serch my name and read about 4r100, towing in OD and lots about the Adaptive learning capabilities (or lack of ability) of the PCM and tranny control.
Unless your tranny was "taught" wrong from the get go, I would not expect much improvement.
But if the trucks first couple of days of life included a lot if sissy driving, then "re teaching" it your real normal habits might be a good thing.
