How many miles is too many? '09 5.4L @ 263k

How many miles is too many? '09 5.4L @ 263k

Interested in this '09 F250 with the 5.4L I found somewhat close to me, price looks good, but it's got 263k on it. Thoughts on how that powertrain's been holding up to the mileage?

I had a 2008 Ford Expedition (Eddie Bauer) I bought new, I sold it in 2012 with nearly 500,000 kilometers and it was still running well.

these trucks seem to do well if the services and maint were kept up and not so well if they were run to the ground by pinching penny owners.

true, but with 263k it would be pretty tough to hide poor maintenance. That is alot of miles on the 5.4L. 500k KM is only 310K miles. From what I have read the gas v8 is pretty clapped out by 350k. BUT if the truck is in nice shape, a reman motor is only about $2500, and good used are a dime a dozen.
