Ballpark price OK trans upgrades this is my first diesel to really upgrade in power I know the 7.3 engine in and out but Have never even opened up a transmission
Depending on the hard part upgrades and torque converter you choose, you are looking at upwards of $1000 in parts alone. I put over $2500 in a trans that is built to 600hp/1200tq. Call it "overkill". I never brought my engine to that power level, but did manage to break some stuff before some of the upgrades.
What converters and upgrades would you suggest I have no idea where to start on trans upgrades or weak points
This discussion could get quite lengthy and I am on the mobile version. I will send you the file from my computer later with a build sheet of suggested upgrades/mods and clearance specs.
This thread is turning into a transmission related topic and a new thread needs to be started to get more response.
So with a custom tuned DP tuner exhaust and intake (the basics) what HP am I around and if I were to add the 38r what would I be close too (I may just throw a wicked wheel on my current turbo save for a BTS trans and then add more power from there)

With the chip, exhaust, stock turbo & intake you should be around 300-310 hp, the 38R will get you up to 325 or so.

That sounds like a good plan................best to have all the supporting systems up to snuff before adding the HP. I learned the hard way the first time around......

Agree with this 100%. Seems like the logical approach unless you like breaking things.....
