I just did a complete radiator flush on my 7.3 My owners manual says to use 4 pints of few-16 or vc-8 diesel coolant additive. When it went to the Ford dealer to pick some up I talked to there diesel mechanic and he said that they only use 1 pint when they do a complete flush. Why such a difference the manual and what the diesel mechanic says. Can anybody have any info in this?

 

When I did my coolant flush on a 7.3, I Took the easy way out and bought FleetCharge. Already has SCA in it. You can also buy NAPACool.

 

I already had the ford few-16 in my garage so I decided to go with the green coolant I just need to know how much to put in initially after a complete flush

 

Exactly what I did when I had my 7.3. The coolant will last longer than the engine or truck. I think it was good to something like 600k miles.

 

Wix cool from orilleys is awsome stuff. Add 2 full bottles to your coolant. its prevents rust and coolant jelling.
