wood board

hi Guys,

I will have to make soon the wood boards for my 56 f100 so anybody knows what is the normal gap between the boards for expand.I haven't decided yet to buy a stainless strips and do it how it should or I have got 6 standard strips and use them.for these ones I need only 7 boards .any idea,opinion?thanks,Tushi

I assume you mean the bed wood?

Bed Wood Spacing

I used the stainless steel strips which are held in place with 5/16" stainless carriage bolts, so the spacing was 5/16" between the boards. just enough for the bolt to clear, and the boards routed to countersink the strips flush wih the boards.
