My manifold has the same pin as in the picture which is the pivot for the lever as seen in the photo. I just don't have the outside lever which would connect to the throttle cable. I'll need to see if the existing lever has the tab on it that the throttle lever pushes against to open the throttle. If I remember, I'll check it in the morning (truck is in the barn).

In the 53-56 models the hand throttle was standard on F250's and up. It was an option on F100's.
Not doubting you, but where did you hear about the F250's and up having manual throttles being standard? My truck has two holes in the dash (for cigar lighter and throttle) but they both have the exact same type of push in silver cover that fills the holes, and since my truck isn't a custom cab truck, I had to figure both were put in at the factory.. Could've easily been done when he got the carb replaced at some point that they deleted the throttle, but how did they get them to match, and why would they care enough? Man, I'm thinkin so hard on such a minor detail... The disease must be progressing faster than I thought! :P

I'll get you a picture later today, stock set up on a 272 in a '56 F350. It is cold and raining, I am sitting by the nice warm fire, drinking coffee right now.

I am glad you questioned me on this. I got my original information from a Ford truck book written by some author years ago. Today since you questioned this since you have an F250 without a hand throttle, I went to a better source. I pulled out my Ford Truck Handbook which is a ring bound binder that dealers would use with info on all F-series models and engine sizes.

Here is my corrected info: hand throttle was optional on F100 and F250's. They were standard on F350 and up.

Thanks for questioning this. Now I am more accurate myself.

That would be just great!

And its no hurry, I was just curious, as I had a hole in my dash, and was thinking if I owuld go the hand throttle route or just cover it up.....
