Difference in oem 08+ rear bumpers
I have had a 08 bumper before and recently sold it to get one with the sensors. The new one isn't reinforced like the other. It also doesn't have the plug to remove for adding a ball to the bumper. It does have ford stamped on it. I'm thinking it's a lower end bumper from just work truck. I'll try to add pics when I get a chance but maybe someone else can verify. Thanks.

On my '13 you can't add a ball to the center of the bumper, it's just a plastic cover. I'm not sure when this started but I'm going to assume in 2011 with the model change. The days of the "real" rear bumpers are long gone, all you get are metal ends with a reinforcement bar in the center that is covered by plastic.

Yes I know mecdac had that photo. When I first bought my 08 one he wanted to see the back and make sure it's oem. It was, but it does look like the new one I got is 11+ and are different. I think he was mistaken saying it was not oem, but just newer model. I went to local ford lot and all the new trucks have the same bumper he said was an aftermarket. I usally hang out in the excursion area just thought I may get better info in here. Thanks guys.
