72 F100 Power Steering

Hello all! Posting one more question for all you knowledgeable people. I have a 1972 F100 and I just got done installing power steering on it from manual steering. I started it and it works great! There are just a few minor problems that I have come into. The pump whines a little bit when I turn from hard left back to center, and I cant figure out how to get the pump mounting bracket tight. I have tried everything. I'm just wondering if there's some kind of bushing that was supposed to be between the bracket and the frame? I tried shortening the bolts a quarter inch and I just ended up stripping out the threads in the water pump. Any help would be much appreciated!

Use the bushings from your donor.

I looked, and I couldn't see any bushings on the truck when I pulled it off. That's why I'm super confused. Do you happen to know what they look like?

All FE engines share the same shape, if it was correct on your donor it should now.

Maybe Number Dummy will post a diagram to show all the pieces.

Thanks for your help John, I got it figured out. I was able to go back to the junkyard and pull the bushings that were missing off of another truck.
