(Too soon?) Growing up one of my favorite episodes was "Edith Keeler Must Die", written by Harlan Ellison or somebody like that. Bones shoots himself up with some drug, wiggs out and jumps through a time machine right back to set of Andy Griffith. Kirk and Spock follow him back in time, and with some surplus ST-45s and breadboard our green-blooded friend is able to communicate with the ship. "Stone knives and Bearskins, Captain."
