It's easy to "wash" the "VIN" on these trucks. Body parts could be sitting on a different frame by now.

Not so fast...

A truck from that part of the country is quite valuable way over here too. My state does not require titles for older vehicle all you need is a simple bill of sale written on the back of a racetrack betting slip or a bag of Doritos and you can register and drive the truck.

I'll keep an eye out for that one around here - or it's parts.

But it could still be located within 20 miles of where it was lost, getting re-assembled and shot with a can of flat black primer and a new glove box door serial number tag bought off e-Bay for $55.

Cops advised John to do a Goggle Earth search of that local neighbor hood to see if he could spot it relocated to some other local property. Tried that, but in that area there are a lot of old vehicles in people's yards, hard to know exactly what you are seeing.

Or less if the 302 was running well!

When I do a GE image search in Maine they are taken from about four years ago. I can tell because my red truck is still in pieces under a tarp in the yard and my wife's daily driver has been gone that long but still shows in the image.
Maybe some geographical areas are updated much more frequently but around here it's hardly a helpful thing to do.

Even StreetView isn't helpful because they never came in my neck of the woods.

On another note....I wish I could know in advance when they were taking the aerial image because I would do something to be a smart-aleck. Write something on the roof about our chief elected official or let the grass grow long and mow a dirty picture in the field. That sort of thing.

Oh, and keep an eye out for Travis Kvapil's stolen NASCAR too
Travis Kvapil Has Sprint Cup Car Stolen from Hotel Parking Lot | Bleacher Report

I hear that finding that stolen car will get you a Pit Pass for all NACAR races the rest of this year.

That story is almost surreal. I read about it this morning. Apparently the team (which is heavily under-funded) took the hauler down earlier in the week to avoid the big snow storm, and then hauled their only car for the weekend in that enclosed trailer behind a dually truck when they finished preparing it. The thief stole truck and all out of a motel parking lot.

Speaking of this sort of thing. On google earth. Type in 7442 south creek road. Midvale utah. Then go to street view and pan to your right (or east) for your suprise.

I cant figure out how to do the kmz file from my phone. Anyway this guy must be famous by now i would think.

Gotta give this fellow props for both his quick reaction and ability to hold a pose. Not sure if he routinely practices...
