Oil Diluted With Fuel

Our 2006 F-350 6.0 has had an ongoing problem with fuel in the crank case. We had all the injector "o" rings replaced and new sealing washers installed at the same time. Since this repair the problem seems to be getting worse.

I have studied the fuel delivery system and it appears that the only place that could leak is the delivery line that runs down the length of the cylinder heads to the injectors. How hard is this to repair, I have been told the cab and engine must be removed to do this, is that true?

Thanks
Mike

It sounds like parts were thrown at it instead of figuring out which injector, if any, was the problem. There's a user on here, Super Duty Service (a.k.a. Run 6.0 Run) who has his own shop specializing in these engines and takes many videos of his work. Look for his injector fuel leak videos - you pull the valve covers and have a helper crank the engine while preventing it from starting. You'll find the offending injector(s) almost immediately by seeing where fuel is leaking into the rocker area.

You could also have a cracked head, but that's probably less likely.

What kinda shop did the work or did you do it yourself. Could be pinched oring on injector, improperly torqued hold down, or cracked head from what I've read.

I have started only using the Ford CM5055 kits as the o-rings fit better. The Alliant kits have loose fitting o-rings that seem questionable.

Then again, Dorman has injector o-ring kits as well.

Easy enough to check. Pop the valve covers and turn the key to On and watch for fuel bubbling out.

Here are some videos.

The close up videos are under the channel Anthony Youngblood

This last one shows that the pitting from media blasting the injector housing caused the issue. The fuel was leaking in between the injector,, and the oring. NOT between the oring any the head.

Oh btw,, that truck is still in service. It's a working truck too. This was almost two years ago and when that job happened,, The local dealership said the engine was shot. They were gonna replace the long block over a couple injectors!!!! That truck prob has 30k on it since these videos were shot.

All the injector seals were replaced by the local Ford dealership after a dye check to find the leak. One in particular was leaking at that time.

Thank you so much for the videos Super Duty Service. All this started after one injector was replaced by a Ford Dealer when the truck quit running on a road trip to California. $2500 later.

On the return trip home the over full oil reading was found. This last service with a new "Y" pipe, rebuilt turbo, and the injector
"O" rings has added about $3500 more in expenses.

I am to the point now where I am ready to knock it in the head, I can not see investing more money at this time.
Again thank you all for your help.
