1980-1984 and some 1985, AOD's used a kick-down rod, other 1985's-on used a cable when the trucks gained fuel injection. Optional in 1985, standard in 1986 for the 302.

Understood. I was talking more about the throttle arm linkage on the carb itself where the TV or Kickdown rod (in either case) would attach.

Could be handy to know if faced with a few unmounted (or mismatched) carbs missing their ID tags.

C4, C6 kickdown rod linkage (the lever to the right of and behind the throttle lever pointing up):

AOD TV rod linkage (the lever to the right of and behind the throttle lever pointing down):

BEAUTIFUL! Thanks, Lariat! Exactly what was needed!

Fantastic 'Write-up' as well! Informative and definitely Sticky worthy!

Only thing missing is reliable, stable source for those stupid bushing replacements
