Seeking Stolen 1950 F1

My friend John had his 1950 F1 stored in the yard of a friend in Tuscon, Arizona and about one year ago it came up missing. The people at the location said that they came home from work one day and it was gone.
It was located at 7715 North Cherokee Pony Trail Tucson, AZ.

It is an usual Maroon color and the back of the cab is painted black. At the time it was taken it was the fenders had been removed and were in the bed. The bed and cab were full of parts including 2 extra doors and an extra hood. It had a 302/C4 drivetrain installed.

Vin is 98RC417571 and it has been reported stolen to local police.
If anyone has any information, please contact John Parson (520) 371-9009 or post here.

Thanks.

FortyNiner,

Yes, but my buddy was not told by the property owner until about 3 weeks ago, so that is when he reported it stolen. Owner was away in another part of Arizona due to illness. When he returned, that is when he found out about it being taken.

Something sounds fishy to me about that story. I would be looking real hard at the "friend" that was storing it.

I hope he gets his truck back.

Yeah, the guy storing it on his property WAS a friend. John has no way of knowing what happened or even when exactly it was taken or given away or sold or what. Still does not change the fact that his truck is missing and he would like to find it.

That's a real drag. I guess if each of us could spend 5 minutes checking our local CL,s for parts, who knows we may get lucky.

My guess is that it is being parted out. The question is was it parted recently or months ago. There are some sick people in the world.

Unfortunately many of our classic cars end up in shipping containers sailing off to some foreign countries where they bring top dollars..

Unless your friend was on his death bed in a coma with absolutely no family members available to contact, there is absolutely no excuse for the land owner to wait that long to inform him that his truck was stolen. I wouldn't look any farther than the land owner. He knows what happened. If he was innocent, he would have informed somebody, anybody when it happened.

Does your friend have anything in writing to support his relationship with the place where it was stored? I would guess the truck was sold for non payment of storage. There is something missing from the equation.

Bigwin56f100, thanks for looking!

Doc, Land owner WAS his friend, but while John was away the land owner rented the house on that property to someone, and it is that person, the renter, that claims the truck just was gone one day when they returned home from work. So renter figured that land owner took it, no body talked, and then when John came back to town he was told the story. Renter claims no idea what happened to truck, land owner claims the same.

John still has the title to the truck. Arizona DMV shows it still in John's name, no one has tried to title it, and now they can not as it has been listed as stolen.

Tucson is an hour from the border, you can guess which way it was headed.
