1963 Slick Pics

Thanks to members here who provided advice and encouragement. As soon as I install the headliner, I will be finished... Until I can think of something else or something breaks.

Purists be warned: I did all the work myself on an exceptionally tight budget so it ain't perfect, but it's perfect for me!

...and a "before" pic just for fun:

Im still wondering why some have the spare cutout in the fender and others do not?

I love the look of the fender cut out for the tire on that bed. It's like it was just meant to be. Old school, just like me.
See a lot of military trucks that way.

Looks fine and dandy to me. The ones you do yourself are the best.
Shadow the tire carrier was an option

It was originally a military truck. The original color was ODG.

I'd have been tempted to paint it OD green and maybe small 3 or 4 inch yellow stars just ahead of the doors.

Thanks for the kind words, gents. I was very tempted to go back with ODG but that light blue is the color of the one my dad had when I was young so I went with that.

I jumped out of the bed of that truck (driving down a dirt road) when I was 10 or so because I saw the 6 million dollar man do it on TV the night before. I clearly remember 3 things. The moment of impact (in a soft bottom ditch, right shoulder first) my dad's anger/surprise/fear after he stopped the truck to see if I was still alive (scariest of all - I thought he was going to kill me), and the color of that truck as he walked me back to it with a firm grip on the back of my neck.

I had to go with that color!

Why would a purist be mad at a pretty stock looking truck? Nice job! Just like my truck has the original paint on it. Its hilarious to see the look on peoples faces when I tell them I'll never paint it. They just don't understand Its original once!!
