89 f250 7.3 IDI nonturbo question

Most would say yes, but look for a good used kit. Theyre around, can usually be scored for $400-800. Banks sidewinder / ATS 093 are both good kits, the 088 is good as well, but non-wastegated.
If looking further than "a little bit more" check out idiperformance.com Hands down the best turbo kit you can buy for the IDI but will run you more than a new banks.

Depends totally on how youre setup and your pump etc. Banks/ ATS (stock style) start running out of air around 20psi, which is what a good stock pump turned up should do. You can fit a different turbo on there, but alot of fab work and fitment issues for less than good up-pipe design. Justins kit allows the use of pretty much any T3 or T4 based turbo and has short equal lenght up-pipes, much like the 7.3 PSD.
My setup for instance will be one of his kits with a BWs363 and 110cc pump. Should put down 300/650 to the ground, im going to guess 26-28psi of boost.
