Well in Ct I just found out that any truck with gvwr of 10001 lbs and higher is exempt from emissions..My last 2002 diesel f350 had gvwr of 9900 so I had to go for inspection and opacity test.Having found out I am exempt from emissions I guess I know what ill be doing once my bumper to bumper warranty is over..Deleteing every piece of that emi$$&@&$ crap off my truck... Now im not against emission laws but the amount of trouble it causes on these new diesels is the problem I have.So the countdown is on till I am done filling urea,lol...

 

Your truck is NOT exempt from emissions, it is only exempt from testing in your state.

And don't count on that to not change in the near future, emissions requirements are only going to get tighter so you may as well get used to it.

 

I fully understand your reply and am well aware of that.Once the warranty is up I will reevaluate and if law is still the same which in my research has been the same for many yrs I will delete.And the emissions center I went to locally said deleteing is not a problem ,they only check the obii port.They could care less if the truck is missing the urea tank and exhaust.Its supposed to be an inspection as well but it depends who you know I guess.Anyways trust me it wont be taken lightly and it will be an informed decision once I decide.To add to it ,I personally havent had one problem to date in three yrs of ownership.This would be a profalactic thing if I did it.

Oh and warranty is not up till june 2019,lol..Time to think about it

 

Same here in NJ. I had a sticker on my 450 that had expired. Went into MV and drove into heavy duty bay. They started the process, then the supervisor said, no, this truck doesn't get inspections, so I asked him to take off the sticker and give me something so local law doesn't give me a ticket. He did. Now I have to try this with my 11 PU
