Wrench light came on????? HELP

I was installing a neutral saftey tow light under the dash of my 06 sport trac. I touched one of the two wire to ground and wrench light came on. I checked fuse #18 and it was good. WHAT Did I do?...How do I fix it?

"neutral safety tow light"? What two wires were you working with? And I'm curious what you're trying to hook up. I have the factory service manual for 2006 and if I can get it to work on my new PC I should be able to help you figure out what might have happened.

I was hooking up a non factory led tight to the umply green connector under the dash per ford tech bulliten. iit was a two wire connector. the yellow and red wire touched a ground. and arched. then the wrench on dash came on and the 4x4 low light is on and would not go off or swith to other modes.
I was going to have programing re flashed on Thursday

I'm sorry, I'm still not able to interpret what connector/wire you were working with. Do you have a link to the technical bulletin? Is it a yellow wire with a red tracer, or both a yellow wire and a red wire in the two wire connector?

I was able to get my 2006 service manual working tonight, but I have no idea where I should be looking.

Okay, I think I've finally figured out what it is you're trying to install. The Neutral Tow Kit is an indicator that lets you know when the transfer case is in neutral, making it safe to tow behind an RV. The kit is pretty much an LED that plugs in to a connector under the dash.

The Yellow/Red wire is fused though fuse F26 (20A) in the Battery Junction Box. The other wire in the connector, Violet/White, would provide ground to illuminate the LED and therefore should not have shorted if touched to ground. It's likely pulled high within the 4WD Control Module and therefore would not spark or draw much current if shorted to ground.
