2003 Ex V10 exhaust thoughts
Good day my EX friends,
I was wondering if any of you have any input on the Flow Master super 50 series muffler for the V10? Is it loud or quiet? does it help with performance or mileage? Those types of questions. or any other Flow Master muffler for that matter. I have had my 2003 EX for a little over a year and it still has not reached 60k miles yet. Great find. I love the truck but I want to give it some big boy upgrades. Like the Flow Master, a cold air intake, and maybe an SCT programmer monitor. I am not a mechanic but it seems that this big engine is really suppressed only making 310 HP. It just seems the potential is much greater than that. I also want to put a lift on it with maybe 36's or so but with out all the head aches of having drive shaft issues and major modifications. I have heard that 6" is about all I can go with out getting very involved. Can I fit 36's under a 6" lift? maybe even 37's. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I have read a number of your treads and you guys are awesome. Thanks for reading this.

I run 37" Goodyear Hummer Military tires under a 6" lift (4" S/D lift) with no problems. Your not going to improve MPG no mater what you do lifting a 7000LB brick another 6" in the air. I can get 10 MPG @ 60-65 MPH with C/Control & a tail wind. I have stock 4.30 gears & dual exhaust.

The tuner and gears are your biggest bang for the buck on these trucks, especially when you start hitting the bigger tires. Of course more go and heavy wheels need more whoa. CAI is useless as the OEM is cold air and supports more flow than the engine can suck in. Exhaust will really net you nothing measurable but tone, though the T-Pipe can do with an upgrade more-so than the muffler.
