online microfiche?

Looking for a 5/16-18 stud for the thermostat neck. Mine has two bolts, but the original design for one stud would make it easier to assemble. Harder to find online than I thought. Looked through the LMC catalog, but no joy.

Anybody know where the fiche is online? Thanks

bump

It's not that I'm avoiding the Ford dealer, I just want a source of parts diagrams, like so I can see how this old truck was supposed to be put together in the first place. Also makes it easier to verify you got the right part when you do buy it from Ford.

you can go to your parts dealer (Ford) and request the diagrams, thats what I did when I was needing to verify the cost of replacing a bumper setup on a 2006 F150 that I found at a dealer.

Thanks, Jaime. I'm guessing Ford, unlike other manufacturers, probably doesn't want online images of their parts books. Darned shame, especially for those of us who like to do our own work and keeps these old warhorses going strong.

BTW, been enjoying your truck thread. Things like that are good to give folks ideas about what to do with theirs.

I re-found this site this morning: Tasca Parts | Lowest Prices Anywhere for Genuine OEM Parts

Good diagrams with Ford part numbers.

Ha! I've bought from Tasca before. Usually pretty good prices, at least before shipping. Thanks.

For curiosity, I pulled up this diagram
STEERING COLUMN for 1989 Ford F-150
just to see if it had the replacement bearings to cure the wobble in the wheel. Sadly, it's not that detailed. I'll go to the Ford dealer after I've had it apart and see exactly what I need.

2020 - Still Looking

I know this is an old Thread but I figured bumping it would be better than creating a new one to ask the same thing.

I would like to know if there is anywhere online where we can look at Ford Parts Diagrams like were on the factory Microfiche and or in the factory Parts Books/Manuals?

I have been to numerous Ford sites online and it appears they are all using the exact same parts software with the assumption being it is what Ford requires them to use. Like others have stated here, I would like to see these diagrams not only to be able to look up Part Numbers myself, but for the excellent reference they provide in their exploded view of systems and components.

Last but not least does anyone know where I might could purchase a set of real Microfiche that would cover the 8th Generation Trucks. And yes I do own a Microfiche Reader, two actually... I have also worked out how to get good digital photos off of my Microfiche reader so that they can be uploaded and then manipulated as digital images.

Assuming you have your Microfiche reader one and your the Frame you want to Photograph is as clear as possible. Also use the highest resolution setting you can on your Digital Camera.

1. Mount your camera on a Tripod.
2. Focus in on that One Frame as good as you possibly can.
3. Set the delay timer on your Camera to whatever setting it has that will allow you to not be touching the camera when it takes the picture, or of course if you have a remote for your camera that will work just as well.
4.Turn all the lights off in the room you are in, then check to be sure the frame is still in focus.
5.Now take the picture & repeat for as many frames as you want.

I have complete set of Ford microfiche 1972-1991 all cars and trucks

I have a Ford Microfiche Reader also. So many people need the use of this and I don't know what it's worth and wouldn't mind selling to someone who wanted to set up a site to help all the builders. Any ideas? I am brand new here and searched the word, "microfiche" and this was the most recent to pop up.

Going to say they are priceless to some of us.

Quick google "microfiche reader" yields many hits for cheap readers. We're not talking rocket science here.

Would be nice to covert those jewels to PDF drop them here for posterity.
