Question Transfer Case Question

I was looking at doing an E4OD to S542 swap for my '93 f150 and I found a great deal for a 4 wheel drive transmission. However, my truck is 2wd. Does anyone know if I could use that transmission and just leave the front drive shaft on the transfer case unattached and just not go into 4wd? Or would there be other complications associated with having an unused drive shaft?

No problem leaving the front driveshaft out. And it also lets you put the t.case in 4-low (still only 2WD in your truck obviously) which lets you crawl slower, really nice for backing trailers etc.

Down side is a little more drag and weight, and you need to mount the t.case.

Is there a floor plate for the transfer case like there is for the manual or do I have to cut a hole in the floor?

You have to cut a hole. On some cabs (I don't think all...) if you pull up the carpet you can see the stamped outline where you need to cut.
