They say its the Intake manifold runner control
I purchased a 2007 F-150 Lariat and two days later I noticed it "jerking" when I'd accelerate from a steady speed until the overdrive kicked in, at which point it would smooth out and run fine. It didn't do it every time, but was more of a hit and miss type thing. The dealership put it on the machine and it said the number 8 coil was bad. They replaced it, and all the plugs, but it didn't fix the problem. After two weeks of being without my new truck, they called today and said the Intake manifold runner control was stuck. Can that cause the "jerking" I described? Thanks.

Must be meaning "charge motion control valve"s (many shorten it to just CMV as I recall) .... they are located in lower part of intake just prior to the cylinder head and controlled by electric motor on back of intake which is itself, computer controlled. All 4 on one side are controlled by a single shaft as are the other 4, both shafts connected to motor. They act to restrict the intake port at low end to speed up intake mixtures and thus help make that low speed torque.
I guess if they stuck in one position or acted in a jerky manor, you'd notice.
