PLTW Engineering and Design Mechanic Creeper Survey

Hi, we are a team of high school students that are taking a course to further our education on engineering. We have come up with an idea of innovating a creeper and we would like to get some feedback from you to help us further our problem.
Survey

  • Do you own/ have you used a creeper to work on your car?
    1. Yes
    2. No
  • Do you struggle to reach up for things while working on your car?
    1. Yes
    2. No
  • If yes, is this due to your creeper’s height?
    1. Yes
    2. No
  • How much would you pay for a creeper?
    1. <$50
    2. $50 - $100
    3. $100 - $150
    4. >$150
  • What’s the worst part about a creeper?

If you could answer these question in a numerical format that would be great. Thank you for helping us.

Yes, no, n/a, whatever is the best value, and inability to handle rough surfaces. I do plan to get a Bonester when I have the funds available. The biggest need I found in a creeper when I was working on heavy trucks was a low profile, the lower to the ground the better. A cheapo parts store one was too tall, the Harbor Freight one was the right height but the middle casters splayed out on the first use (weak thin blow molded plastic), and now once I have the money I'll get a decent low profile one.

Can't really beat those Bonester's or their other products. Pricey for sure but durable and tend to work much better than the typical creeper which is just a board with cheap casters stuck to the bottom.

1= yes
2=yes
3= no
4= b
5= A lot of creepers have a difficult time with the wheels locking up from there being any sort of debris, rough terrain or a crack in the concrete.

I haven't had that problem since high school. If I laid face down my beard might give me issues though-

i know better than to do that!!! even though the hair and beard are only 1/4 the size they were back in the 80's and 90's. i went 25 years without a haircut or beard trim.
this was last week, about 6 months worth. i am not trimming it until i hit 250 lbs, and have 19 more lbs to loose.
