Water pump help!!!!

First off I want to say this site is awesome!!!! Full of information...
Second not sure if im doing this right....

I have a 1995 F350 with the 7.3l PSD manual transmission. 2wd 4-door.

I just recently purchased the truck and was going thru doing general maintenance when I noticed a slight coolant drip coming from 2-piece neck on the water pump. From what I see and what I can buy the water pump is a one piece unit. Not sure if there is a difference between them or not but I need to know what exactly im looking for in terms of replacing it. Also read alot about coolant needs for anti-pitting and corrosion protection.. Any recommendations on what coolant to use.. Not to worried about doing routine maintenance on coolant system. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is my first diesel.. Thanks in advance... And if im doing this wrong please help me there as well...

Looked and compared the two water pumps side by side and noticed no major difference except for the 96 having a two piece and not a one piece...

When comparing the two I did notice that the one for the 96 like the one on the truck did not have a bung for the temp sensor. The one piece unit for the 95 does have the sensor mounting point. Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a pic? If by "neck", you mean the thermostat housing, it should be one piece.

What's this other water pump you're comparing yours to? Is it one available online, and if so, what's the link?

not sure how to post pics.... But im comparing one from a 95 to one from a 96. the 95 is one solid piece being it runs one solid piece to lower rad. hose. the 96 has a spout that bolts to the water pump that the lower rad. hose attaches to... Not sure if that helps any...

This being the one the parthouse call for my truck.. Didnt see any difference besides the neck to lower rad. hose (95)

They are pretty well the same pump. I would say it just got redesigned to have one less leak point. Which ever one you go with just make sure you have the right thermostat for it. They switched the length in between those years. If you plan on keeping that truck a while you could put in a IH pump with the integrated filter, and use coolant with sca.

This is the pump

Yes i Definitely plan on keeping the truck for a good time.. It currently has 364k miles and was well taken care of by previous owner. I'm in a sense doing preventive maintenance to keep the longevity of the truck. I will be looking into that pump.. Thanks again for the insight.
