HELP!!! 1997 F-250 CC (aka, naming threads)

Just a suggestion to some people. If you name a thread with something that pertains to the topic of the thread it's a lot more helpful. Threads titled something like "HELP!!!" or with a description of your truck don't give us much info to know whether it's a thead we might be able to contribute to / learn from. And if we do look in on it it's harder to remember when it comes back up that it's a thread we were following.

So for instance, if you need help bleeding brakes on your '97 F-250 CC, by all means tell us in the first post what truck you are working on. But I'd suggest titling it something like "Need help bleeding brakes".

End of Public Service Announcement. We now return you to your regular programming.

Agreed. "Help!" is nowhere near as descriptive as "94 302 won't crank" and it really does help decide what to read next/what not to bother with.

AMEN. But I just ignore those post. And the ones that don't even stay remotely close to the original topic. It turns into a BS session. FTE is good for that

Although "won't crank" seems to mean different things to different people. To me it means that the starter won't turn the engine over, but reading some posts it sounds like to others it means that the engine moves, but doesn't fire (to me that would be "doesn't fire").

So I'll expand my original suggestion to say try to be clear and concise in the title, and then expand on it in the post to make sure it's clear.

Exactly. So people, you'll get more (and more focussed) attention to your questions if you actually ask your questions.

Absolutely. Giving as much detail as possible in the post even if it's seemingly irrelevant, such as a truck that stalls in reverse but just had the transmission filter changed, can be a real time saver.

I nominate this post for a sticky.

Sorry if that was related to my thread it was due to not finding the show off your pre 97 trucks thread. Turns out it was under review with the mods

This wasn't in response to any one thread in particular. It just always seems like there are a couple of threads on any given page with non-descriptive titles like this. In fact right now there are 2: ?????????????help which is about adjusting idle and 1997 F250 HD which is about AC, Not to pick on those two in particular, they just happen to be current examples.
