Need Pics of Paint to Match Grills

I just bought an '08 F250 XL with a black front grill. My truck is dark charcoal in color and I'm thinking of painting it to match the rest of the truck rather than buy a new $400 chrome grill. Any chance you guys have done this already? I'd appreciate any pics, in any color of anyone who has done this. Thanks

Yep...

I just did it to my '15 Super Duty - went from way too much chrome to color match and black. Also did the Ford emblems black and white...

I plan on doing the bumper white in the spring - IF this four and a half feet of snow ever melts!!! :-)

I use this company for my color matching - they can match the factory paint and put it in a bottle, spray can or quarts if you want to shoot it with a gun. I actually used spray cans and it came out excellent. They also carry plastic adhesion promoter and the clear to go over the color. Just take your time in a clean garage and you would never know it's a spray can job.

I read a bit about that plastic dip idea a couple of months ago - it actually sounds perfect for the nose parts of our trucks. My grille has been painted maybe 3 months and I already have 3 chips in it!!! Let me know if you have any info on it please "eberlestock"???

Sorry EF2FITTY - didn't mean to steal your thread!

Jim D, that looks amazing. Your paint scheme makes it look like a totally different truck. I'd have never thought to keep the middle part black......Love it!
And thanks for heads up on the paint supplier!!

Yes, great truck reaper! Even in my color. Would you mind telling me what you did for lift and tires/wheels? As soon as spring comes that will be next.

The FX-4 Trucks always seemed to come with the surround color matched and some kind of dark gray or black grille... I always liked that. Of course, Ford had to stop it and go all chrome!

Thanks guys.

No lift, truck came with the camper package. Tires are 295/70/18 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 18x9 Methods with -12 offset. On steep angles while turning lock to lock it'll rub the bumper bracket slightly But other than that, works out great.
