The truck has been solid (bulletproofed, update parts, 4" lift and 35's, 08+ upgrades, etc.) but I think I would be happier with a smoother riding truck with a much nicer interior. I just recently bought the wife a 2013 Flex Ecoboost Limited and it makes my 2006 Amarillo look extremely outdated.

What are your guys' thoughts?
Make the wife drive the truck and you take her Flex. Problem solved.

So your getting the NEW car/truck itch?

You have to do what makes the best sense for you.

If i was ready to buy a truck i would go with a new f150. Not sure if I'd want eco boost over the 5.0 but that's a personal choice. the new F150's vs our nearly ten yr old trucks would be an improvement if one doesn't need the diesel. The tow ratings on the newer 150's is pretty impressive. I also have very little need for the 250 other than I love the room inside and the look of the 05-07's

At this point I think I'm gonna go with the 11+ F-150. I'm tired of dealing with diesel in the winter and I only tow a couple times a month anymore. Also, the F-150 when properly equipped with tow just as much as my 6.0 and more smoothly. The diesel is fine in the summer, but in the winter waiting for it to warm up, plugging it in, etc. gets to be a chore for a daily driver. I'm ready for something easier. Not having to seek out a diesel station, having to put additive in, etc. would be amazing as well and then I don't need to worry about the wife doing something bad to it.

something changed in 08. My 08 f-350 v-10 dually, drive smoother and gets better gas milage than my previous 2005 f-250.

My 08 gets better gas milage than my previous 2000 expedition and 2001 navigator which is basically on an f-150 chasis.

so if you want out of the desiel world, might be cheaper to get your hands on an 08 or later v-10.

Been thinking a lot about this lately. The truck will be my daily driver, so that's a lot of the reason I'm thinking of going to the F-150. It'll be a lot more comfortable and easy to use every day instead of the F-250. Also, since I don't regularly tow or haul anything that's seriously heavy I feel like the F-250 is going to waste. I'm thinking though just so I don't lose all of the capacity that I could go with a Platinum F-150 Ecoboost with the Max Tow package. That'll give me about 75% of the F-250 as far as payload and towing weight but give me a lot nicer truck and more comfort. Diesel just gets to be a chore every day, especially when it's -10 like it was this morning.

Hate to see you go but I do understand. You know that we will need to see
photos of the new one if you do it.

Happy hunting. Looking for a new ride dose seam like a tromp in the woods
looking for wild things that want to kill you.

My advice to you is to rent an ecoboost F150. Enterprise has some in their fleet. Bring it home and hook it to anything you may be considering towing and do some testing. Thats the only way you will know for sure.

My only issue at this point of getting rid of the F-250 is that I know it'll basically do whatever I need it to as far as hauling and towing. The only thing I have to regularly tow is a small scrap trailer and an 18' car trailer. I only use the scrap trailer about once every 2 months and as far as hauling a car it's maybe once a month. I do regularly use the bed to transport scrap from work to home to store it and I also use it to haul used tires, building materials, lumber, etc. I don't have a job that regularly requires a truck, but it comes in very handy. I figured the f150 would swrve better as a daily driver.

I think the idea or renting a F150 and testing it out
is a good one. Or you could just keep the F250 and add
a DD to the mix.

The wife and I have also discussed it, but at the end of the day not having a truck payment wins out

I've driven quite a few of the 09-14 F-150's now and like them a lot more than my F-250. As far as a daily driver goes I'd rather drive the truck to work so I can pick up scrap and tires or tow cars into the building when need be. That's kind of the idea of getting a more comfortable daily truck is that I will actually want to drive it every day. Right now my 2001 Audi A8L is winning over my truck every day.

If I play my cards right I won't have a truck payment, or very little payment.

traded my 6.0 in for an '07 F-150 for all the same reasons you listed. i thought i would miss the SD... not even a little. granted i usually enjoyed monitoring and owning the diesel, but this is sooo much less stressful to own.

That's my thoughts too. Much less stressful to own and operate.

I'd strongly advise against that..lol He'd get one sooner than he expected..

The Ecoboost tows so much quieter and smoother than my 6.0 did. Of course, it won't tow as much weight.

Yea, the Ecoboost is so much quieter and smoother than my 6.0 is. Yes, it won't tow as much weight, but it will tow it a lot more comfortably.
